I am a Wyoming native, raised in Sheridan, Wyoming. I have lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 20+ years. I love photography, and first delved into the medium when I was in high school and college. I took every class I could and made the most of those old black & white darkroom days using Kodak T-Max 100 and 400 film. My early influences include Dorothea Lange, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Man Ray, Ansel Adams, Margaret Bourke-White, and Diane Arbus. I can only dream of creating the kinds of images these great artists did.
A hemorrhagic stroke in 2012 at the age of 42 reset the course of my life a bit, and I have begun to rediscover the joy of expressing and noticing the subtelties of everyday life through the lens. Although I’ve overcome most of my physical limitations from the hemorrhage, I don’t want to waste any time exploring, capturing, and enjoying this beautiful world we too often take for granted. I can’t wait to discover more.
