The Magic Silver Show: Elena Diane Curris Juried Photomedia Exhibition 2023

“Jackson Reservoir Sunset” was chosen by jurist Frances Jakubek for 2023 The Magic Silver Show: The Elena Diane Curris Juried Photomedia Exhibition. The Magic Silver Show began in the mid 1970’s as a juried exhibition designed to encourage, foster understanding, and reward those involved in photographic media.  This exhibition will present a survey of contemporary photo media in all aspects and genres of photography, film, video, and moving image. This exhibition will be on view from September 7 – October 17, 2023 in The Clara M. Eagle Gallery at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.


48th International Art Show: Brownsville Museum of Fine Art

Morning Stillness and Smoke will be part of the 48th International Art Show at Brownsville Museum of Fine Art in Brownsville, Texas. Juror Christina Rees has chosen this as one of 57 pieces to be displayed.

Christina Rees was the Senior Texas Editor at Glasstire from 2014-2017, and Editor-in-Chief at Glasstire from 2017-2021. In the past, she has served as an editor at The Met and D Magazine, as the full-time art columnist at the Dallas Observer, and has contributed art, film, and music criticism to the Village Voice, the Dallas Morning News, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and other publications. Rees was the owner and director of Road Agent gallery in Dallas for three years before serving as curator of Fort Worth Contemporary Arts from 2009 to 2013. Prior to joining Glasstire as an editor in July 2014, she was a frequent Glasstire contributor, and continues to write for other publications such as BLAU and Artdesk. Rees was a recipient of the Rabkin Prize, a national $50k award for outstanding arts writing. She is currently based in Dallas.


Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum 2nd Annual New Frontiers Juried Art Show and Sale

“Black Hills Winter Morning” and “Jackson Reservoir Sunset” have been selected for The New Frontiers Juried Art Show and Sale. This show pushes the definition of Western Art and is accessible to all types of buyers, from those who are just starting to collect art to established collectors looking for something different. This show demonstrates the many diverse artistic visions of our Western Heritage, reflecting the continuous reimagining and reinterpretation of our prized ideals.

The Show takes place in the CFD Old West Museum from November 3, 2023 to December 3, 2023.

Three works have been accepted into this juried show being held at Life in the West Gallery in Broomfield, Colorado.

Jackson Reservoir Sunset, Homesteader’s World, and Morning Stillness and Smoke will be presented.
