Visited the Gooseberry Badlands for the first time a couple weeks ago. This moonscape of a landscape is so amazing - so many colors and weird formations. The best part is we were the only ones that took the easy hike. A few people stopped, but didn't venture down into the "pit." We returned to visit Gebo, Wyoming the other day. We hadn't been there in a few years, and had heard rumors that the buildings had been razed. So glad that wasn't true. We were there about 7:30 in the morning, pretty early; dew still on the grass and not a soul around save a herd of antelope in the clearing below us. I was really taken with this view, I'm not sure why. Something about it stirred me. You win some, lose some. Yesterday I received a "not invited" letter to a show, today I received an invite! It's so exciting. This piece, titled "Abandoned Ranch at Night", is headed to Fayetteville, North Carolina for a National Juried Competition titled "At Night: A Photographic Exploration of Light" which will be held at the Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery.

From the call for entry, "Artists are asked to investigate the complexities of night imagery and light sources that play off an object, surface of interior and exterior spaces at night.
The exhibition will have two parts: The five-week physical gallery exhibition and an on-line exhibition. All selected artworks will exhibit on-line for eight weeks. The exhibition juror will select certain works to be exhibited in the gallery."
